Posting Summary | Provide analytical research support to team of researchers engaged in water quality forecasting. Functions include data compilation, water quality model development, model performance assessments, and developing publications and presentations (research communication) related to water quality forecasting research including data sharing and outreach. |
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience) | MS degree; completion of coursework and other requirements for a PhD in environmental engineering (candidate status) and a demonstrated record as a lead author on publication(s) using machine learning algorithms to forecast water quality. Fluency with open source coding languages (R, Python, SQL), deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch), software (QGIS, HECRAS) and code sharing environments (GitHub, FigShare).Subject area expertise in hydrology and water quality. |

Anticipated Pay Range | $60,000 – $65,000 |
Other Information | Funding guaranteed until July 2027 after which position is contingent on continued funding. |
