The State Water Project Analysis Office is looking for a dynamically engaged, Engineer, Water Resources with a can-do attitude to join its team. If you want to be a part of the State Water Project (SWP) team, we may have the job for you!


Under the direction of the Manager of the Cost Allocation and Repayment Unit, the incumbent performs duties related to creating the annual Statements of Charges (SOC) for the State Water Project (SWP) Contractors. This includes utilizing the new Cost Allocation and Billing (CAB) database, defining, and creating allocation related master data, updating and analysis of cost allocations, performing cost and charge analysis, conducts engineering studies relating to SWP Table A, Table A Sales, Aqueduct Improvement and Extension, Use of Facilities Charges, Power- Pumping and Generating Facilities.


This position will require the incumbent to use their engineering background, engineering economics, and deal with large data sets.  The incumbent will be given the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the State Water Project and the State Water Project Contractors, the contracts, facilities, history, and billing methodologies used to keep the SWP funded and operating.  This is a fast paced, detail oriented, environment that requires a teaching mentality and desire to understand both the how and why things are done, and the incumbent is rewarded with a detailed understand of the SWP from the billing side.

The ideal candidate will have enjoyed their engineering economics class(es), working in Excel, and dealing with complex datasets and performing data analysis. The candidate should be well organized and detail oriented. Other desirable qualifications include some programming experience with Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA) or python, and experience using ESRI Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs, knowledge contracts/agreements, cost allocation, budgeting, and finance experience.
