This thesis explores new measurement and characterization techniques applied to open-source radio access networks (Open RAN), focusing on their deployment and performance. The study is developed within the framework of the AIGUA5G project, which promotes the use of 5G and IoT networks for automated water management. Tools and methodologies are proposed to evaluate the efficiency and viability of Open RAN in critical infrastructures such as those of the integrated water cycle.
