Local recruitment: Environmental Analyst – Training Development Specialist

Seeking a full-time Environmental Analyst to act as a specialist for our wastewater training program and a clearinghouse for information to state partners, operators, and the public.

In this role, you will:

  • Support our training initiatives, primarily through management of NEIWPCC’s JETCC training program and the development and implementation of new online self-paced training. Recruit and coordinate with volunteer instructors. Establish goals and standards for training content, identify gaps, and collaborate with experts and stakeholders to create course materials.
  • Lead the planning, development and execution of training activities, conferences and workgroup meetings, host remote and in-person sessions and meetings.
  • Maintain appropriate webpages, develop advertising campaigns to promote training opportunities, and provide background materials or write articles for publications.
  • Develop and track work plans, budgets, and contract/grant amendments.
  • Support certification and renewal activities related to wastewater operation and nonpoint source erosion control by processing applications, TCH requests, and supporting operators navigating processes and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in environmental studies, natural science, public health, earth science, biology, chemistry, or related field preferred, with at least three years of related experience.
  • Possess a NEIWPCC Member State (ME, VT, RI, MA, CT, NY or NH) Wastewater Operator’s Certification (Class II or higher) or be capable of earning certification within the first eighteen months of employment.
  • Excellent computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft products, databases, Adobe Acrobat, online meeting platforms and experience with Learning Management Systems.
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build collaborative relationships, to work with shifting priorities, that is highly organized and has a willingness to learn new tools and systems.

What We Offer:
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000. NEIWPCC offers an outstanding comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees:

Position Logistics:
This full-time position will work 8 hours per day and is based out of NEIWPCC’s office in South Portland, ME. Duties will be performed in an office setting with regular travel, for which a valid driver’s license and private means of transportation are required. After six months, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, subject to approval and program needs.
