Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or other relevant relevant disciplines.

General Work Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in the implementation of WASH projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, preferably within an NGO environment. A background in civil or environmental engineering, with knowledge of water and sanitation standards, is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Languages:
  • Arabic: Excellent (Writing, Reading, Speaking)
  • English: Good (writing, reading, speaking)
  • Computing:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including, excel, word, outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of humanitarian standards and codes, including SPHERE is preferred.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • To communicate efficiently with multiple teams\employees of different backgrounds or nationalities
  • To work extra time as needed

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare BOQs, technical drawings, and specifications in coordination with the Field Coordinator and the WASH team in Turkey.
  • Conduct regular field visits to WASH program sites in coordination with partners to monitor construction/rehabilitation works, collect technical feedback, and ensure compliance with standards and designs.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports on WASH interventions, highlighting achievements, technical challenges, and any delays affecting work plans.
  • Lead technical assessments to identify WASH needs for new projects, including water supply, sanitation facilities, and hygiene infrastructure, and monitor changes in market prices for construction materials and equipment.
  • Ensure the technical quality and safety of program implementation, in line with project objectives, donor requirements, and international humanitarian standards (e.g., SPHERE, WHO).
  • Provide technical input and support to the M&E team during monitoring and evaluation of WASH projects, including verification of construction quality and functionality of systems.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling, field missions, and assigned responsibilities as required by project needs.
  • Supervise and review technical reports submitted by site engineers and contractors; consolidate findings and submit to the line manager.
  • Verify the accuracy of technical data and documentation, ensuring integrity of records and engineering files.
  • Develop and maintain proper engineering documentation systems, including design files, as-built drawings, contracts, and site reports.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and proper classification of project data, including beneficiary-related information.
  • Establish and maintain a well-structured archive system (hard and soft copies) for WASH projects that allows easy reference and retrieval of technical documents.
  • Compile and present technical information and progress updates to the direct supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Perform other engineering or program-related tasks as assigned by the line manager.
  • Other tasks at the request of the line manager
