Civic and Political Engagement Manager (Full-Time)
Who is WELL?
Water Education for Latino Leaders (WELL), established in 2012, is on a mission to educate and train local Latino elected officials about water issues in order to promote timely and equitable policies and actions that support a robust economy, healthy communities, and a resilient environment for all Californians. WELL hosts annual conferences, regional workshops, and fellowship programs to educate elected leaders about California’s most pressing water issues and has trained over 2,000 local elected officials.
Why are we hiring?
WELL is working to disrupt the CA water sector by addressing the urgent need for transparency, access, and representation. Although Latinos comprise nearly 40% of the state’s population, they hold only 14% of leadership positions in water governance. Communities of color continue to bear the brunt of inequitable access, unsafe drinking water, and underrepresentation in decision-making spaces. At WELL, we believe this must change. The solutions to California’s water challenges will only be effective if diverse perspectives and lived experiences shape them.
