About the Role:
The Shorebird and Wetland Habitat Project is a $17 million Australian Government funded program, aimed at delivering on-ground solutions to improve shorebird habitats and wetland ecosystems at a range of sites in the Coorong, Lower Lakes, Murray Mouth and South-East regions.
The Program Leader, Shorebird and Wetland Habitat is responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered to the highest quality and in accordance with project requirements, on time, and within budget. This includes working with delivery partners, both within and external to DEW, to implement a range of small-scale, site-based projects to successfully achieve environmental outcomes, support First Nations connection to Country and reinforce South Australia’s commitment to international obligations such as the Ramsar Convention.
In this role, you will:
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of on-ground works and activities that support the achievement of program outcomes.
- Coordinate and lead the monitoring and management of risks, budgets, funding agreements and reporting, including providing timely and high-quality advice and information to management, governance committees and the funding body.
- Support and enable engagement and collaboration with First Nation groups
- Actively promote the program to build support and foster landholder and community connections to environmental outcomes.

Contract:
Contract up to 31 March 2027
Desirable Qualifications:
Relevant Program or Project Management qualifications or the equivalent experience is highly desirable.
Special Conditions:
- May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
- Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- May require some intra/interstate travel.
- Some out of hours may be required.

Remuneration:
ASO7 $108,109 min – $116,864 max p.a.
