Position: Soil and Water Conservation Consultant
Area of Expertise: Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related fields with a focus on water conservation, biodiversity restoration, and ecosystem infrastructure.
Educational Qualification & Experience:
Minimum Post Graduate degree in Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field with minimum 5 years’ experience in designing and working on projects related to water conservation structures, spring-shed development, and biodiversity restoration. Experience in O&M (Operations & Maintenance) systems for created infrastructure. Experience in training asset owners in O&M. Hands-on experience in more than 2 projects involving water management, biodiversity conservation, catchment area treatment, disaster risk reduction, or similar fields. Experience in closely working with communities in project areas will be preferred.
Roles & Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the client, in effective implementation of land and water conservation activities.
- Provide technical guidance to offices on planning and implementing water conservation projects, including springshed and storage structure designs.
- Examine project site plans and designs for soil and water conservation works.
- Undertake field visits to monitor progress, verify quality, and provide guidance to field officials.
- Prepare manuals/guidelines for execution of soil and water conservation works.
- Field travel is mandatory.
Additional Advantage:
- Familiarity and work experience in North India, particularly Uttarakhand.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
