About the Role:
We are seeking a mid-career professional with some international experience. The role will give you the opportunity to continue building expertise in both project delivery and head-office project management alongside sector-leading experts.
In Sweco’s International Department, we manage complex infrastructure projects funded by development banks, multi/bi-lateral agencies, local governments, and private organisations all over the globe. As our new colleague, you will work with and learn from a multi-disciplinary team of international colleagues who share a passion of creating sustainable solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage large, complex international water supply and wastewater treatment projects (from feasibility through to design and supervision)
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in Copenhagen and across project locations
- Prepare project plans, budgets, schedules and ensure timely, quality delivery
- Lead and support feasibility studies, master planning, technical design, and tender documents
- Ensure compliance with FIDIC contract conditions and international standards
- Conduct technical reviews, environmental/social impact assessments, and offer solutions for technical water challenges
- Promote sustainable practices and digitalization (SCADA, PLC, etc.)
- Regularly report to stakeholders, manage risks, and participate in business development
- Provide training and capacity building for local teams
Your Profile:
- 5+ years proven experience managing water supply/wastewater projects, ideally in emerging markets
- Direct experience with International Financial Institutions (EBRD, KfW, Danida, etc.)
- Prior roles as Project Manager, Water Supply Specialist, or Environmental Engineer
- Practical knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions (Red, Yellow, Gold Book)
- Strong background in feasibility studies, investment programming, and impact assessments
- Familiar with IWRM, water treatment processes, pump station/distribution design, and digitalization
- Committed to sustainable, eco-friendly solutions
- Willing and able to travel globally for project delivery
