M.S. Opportunities (Starting Spring 2026)
We are currently seeking a well-rounded physical scientist with a strong interest in modeling and simulations of Earth’s systems, including, but not limited to, hydrology. This M.S. is in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Alabama. Candidates do not nessessarily need to have a background in Geology, but they should have some experience in an area related to Earth Science demonstrated through project experience or upper division course work. Candidates should have:
- Background in Earth sciences, physics, Civil Engineering or related fields
- Programming experience and an interest to develop these skills
- Science communication skills

Post-Doctoral Scholar Opportunity
We have an opening for a post-doctoral scholar to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a physical scientist with expertise in Earth system modeling and simulations. This position is expected to be on-site at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Required qualifications include:
- Background in Earth sciences, physics, Civil Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
- Strong computational skills with expertise in both numerical methods and machine learning for modeling dynamic systems
- Programming expertise with Python, Matlab, or C++
- Science communication skills
