As part of your duties as Program Supervisory in Timor-Lese, you will recruit and manage local staff and work alongside our partner organisations to develop Abundant Water’s ceramic water filter distribution network. This will involve working closely with schools, partner NGOs, donors, the Board of Directors in Australia and local communities across Timor-Leste.
The focus of the Program Supervisor’s work will be in achieving Abundant Water’s strategic plan which includes; coordinating complex systems and program implementation; expanding the Social Business program; managing staff and financial accounting; developing partnerships and opportunities and improving the water filter and Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program both through monitoring and evaluation as well as research and development. The Program Supervisor will represent Abundant Water at meetings with potential funders and influencers and will gain hands-on experience building a strong skillset in international development, adaptive leadership and water security.
As the Timore-Leste (TL) In-Country Program Supervisor you will**:**
- Abide by the Abundant Water (AW) code of conduct, including policies as they relate to child protection and counter terrorism
- Manage the AW programs and assets in TL.
- Manage the AW staff in TL, their welfare, and their recruitment.
- Manage the AW finances and accounts in TL.
- Implement feedback regarding technology development, installation, monitoring and evaluation to the field
- Manage AW partnerships in TL to develop new opportunities of mutual benefit.
- Manage relationships with AW donors in TL to develop new opportunities of mutual benefit
- Develop new projects and partnerships to enable AW to achieve its 2-year strategic plan.
- Report to the AW Board in Australia on organisational and operational matters in TL.
- Develop fund-raising opportunities in TL.
- Manage any intern program, including mentorship and professional development.
- Conduct monitoring, assessment and evaluation on project progress and provide feedback and suggestions on modification and change.
- Other duties as required.
Alongside the Board of Directors, the PS will also be accountable for:
- Ensuring AW in TL has a clear vision, mission, and strategic direction and is focused on achieving these.
- Working in partnership with other Directors, the CEO, and volunteers.
- Being responsible for the performance of AW and for its ‘corporate’ behaviour.
- Ensuring that AW maintains its operational status in TL.
- Acting as guardians of AW’s assets, both tangible and intangible, taking all due care over their security, deployment and proper application.
- Ensuring that the AW’s governance is of the highest possible standard.Role Requirements
- Strong English Language Proficiency.
- Able to work with time constraints and manage a range of managerial duties including finance, donor reporting, budgeting, communications, recruiting, strategic planning, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with international donors and organisations.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting and a willingness to work both independently and in teams.
- Eager to work with rural communities and schools to develop Water Sanitation and Hygiene programs (WASH programs)
- Experience working in WASH programs.Required qualifications or relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Social Science, Business Administration, Program Management or similar qualifications.
- Work experience in non-governmental sector, rural development, government, business, or community development.
