Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a PhD Assistantship in Groundwater Modeling located in Baton Rouge, LA. The PhD Assistant will be responsible for conducting research on groundwater modeling, performing data analysis, developing and implementing numerical models, and preparing research reports and publications. Additional duties include collaborating with faculty and other researchers, attending project meetings, and presenting findings at conferences.
Qualifications

  • Strong background in Groundwater Modeling, Hydrogeology, and related fields
  • Experience with numerical modeling and data analysis
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a research team
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering, Geoscience, or related field
  • Prior research experience in groundwater or hydrological modeling is a plus
