The Role
Ready to lead Tasmania’s water future? TasWater is on a bold mission to achieve 100% recycled water use by 2050, and we need a visionary Recycled Water Planning Lead to drive this game-changing goal.
In this dynamic role, you’ll develop and execute cutting-edge policies, strategies, and planning tools that make recycled water the new standard. You’ll own the coordination and delivery of innovative recycled water projects, breaking down silos and uniting teams across the organisation to create seamless, impactful solutions.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to champion sustainable water use, navigating regulatory landscapes and turning big ideas into real-world success. - Lead cross-functional teams to deliver smart, integrated recycled water projects.
- Drive the strategy and planning for TasWater’s recycled water vision.
- Lead the development of policies, guidelines, and analytical tools to improve asset investment planning and the effective management of recycled water schemes in alignment with our corporate strategy.
- Build strong partnerships with regulators, communities, and industry.

What we’re looking for
An experienced water planning professional with a strong background in recycled water initiatives. You’re a strategic thinker and effective collaborator who can navigate regulations and lead cross-team projects. You’re passionate about sustainability and ready to drive innovative solutions that help Tasmania reach its recycled water goals.
- A natural leader and collaborator who thrives on driving cross-team initiatives and building strong partnerships.
- Minimum of 5 years experience within a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Geospatial Science, Land Use Planning, Science, or equivalent competency
- A strategic thinker and problem solver who can turn big-picture goals into practical, impactful plans.

The Details
This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $131,265 – $145,850 (inclusive of superannuation), negotiable dependent on experience.
