WestWater Research seeks a Water Consulting Analyst to support water market analysis, economic research, and financial consulting projects in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Texas Regional Director, this role involves researching water rights trading activity, providing data-driven insights, and supporting valuation and transaction advisory projects. What You Do

Water Market Research

  • Research and analyze the value of water and water infrastructure development in key Western U.S. markets.
  • Track market dynamics, regulatory processes, and trading trends.
  • Compile data, develop market reports, and maintain professional relationships with industry stakeholders.

Valuation and Economic Projects

  • Provide research and analytical support for client projects, including water asset valuations, financial analysis, and economic modeling.
  • Conduct data collection, organize findings, and contribute to deliverables such as reports and presentations.
  • Utilize tools like Excel and programming applications for economic and financial modeling.

Water Asset Valuation

  • Assist in delivering valuations, financial analyses, and economic reports on water assets.
  • Assist in data collection, analysis, and reporting, ensuring quality and precision.

Water Rights Consulting

  • Advise a diverse client base, including municipalities, utilities, developers, and investors, on water rights issues.
  • Assist in managing consulting projects, ensuring timely and actionable deliverables.

Water Supply Procurement and Transaction Advisory Services

  • Support a diverse client base, including municipalities, utilities, industrial users and developers, in identifying and pricing water for trading.
  • Assess supply project feasibility and development/delivery risks, based on regulatory frameworks, hydrological data and other trends.

What You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Natural Resources, Applied Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong interest in consulting, water resources, agriculture, or natural resource sectors.
  • Prior experience (5+ Years preferred) in economic or financial modeling, consulting, or data analysis.
  • Familiarity with economic impacts of regulatory and environmental policies, especially in the context of resource allocation and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of Western U.S. water rights and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Proven ability to distill complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in software tools for statistical analysis, financial modeling, or data visualization (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Python, or R).
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively under tight deadlines.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), annual bonuses, and profit sharing.

Location
