Local recruitment: Senior Statutory Planner

Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) is Australia’s largest rural water corporation responsible for storing, managing and delivering water across most of northern Victoria. GMW provides more than 39,000 services to about 25,000 customers in its operating region.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time role located primarily at our Tatura Office, with the flexibility to work from home or other office locations.

As part of the Property Services Group within the Business and Finance Division, this role plays a key part in supporting GMW’s obligations as a statutory referral authority and public land manager. You will work closely with the Statutory Planning Partner to manage strategic planning initiatives and provide expert assessment and responses to medium to high-risk and complex planning permit applications.

This position is ideal for a planner with strong analytical skills and experience in navigating statutory frameworks, who is ready to contribute to sustainable land and water management outcomes across the region.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist Statutory Planning Partner with and independently provide technical assessment and responses to medium/high risk and/or complex planning permit applications.
• Apply professional planning, environmental and technical knowledge to planning permit applications, associated forms and general planning documentation
• Deliver administrative processes for statutory planning applications and other property services matters, including land dealings and leasing/licencing applications, as required in accordance with the relevant legislative requirements
• Responding to general property enquiries

• Desirable to hold relevant tertiary qualifications or experience
