1. Role : Program Manager
2. Location :Talaja, Bhavnagar
Key Responsibilities.
1. Overall management of village development program interventions through active community participation in areas of livelihood (on-farm and off-farm); integrated water resource management (IWRM); etc.
2. Actively engaging in promoting sustainable agriculture practices (specifically in context of saline conditions) and associated market linkages.
3. Management of Water Resources using advanced technology-based solutions through community institutions like water user groups, etc.
4. Close coordination with key rural development agencies like NABARD, DRDA, Agriculture Universities, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, etc.;
5. Partner with other local stakeholders like non-government organizations, community institutions, academic institutions to engage them in overall development agenda of the organization
6. Regular monitoring and documentation of key activities, progress reports, etc. and engaging in research for assessing impacts of various programmes;
7. Provide strategic guidance. mentoring and implementation support by managing a team of professionals with diverse academic backgrounds like agriculture, veterinary, civil engineering, social work and accounts.
8. Engaging with program leads across themes based out of head office at Ahmedabad
Brief Job Description:
1. S/he will provide Backstopping Support to field team for various Water Resources Development Interventions;
2. S/he would be responsible for capacity building, onsite hand-holding and support, identification of design and quality issues, discuss them with the Cluster Coordinator and provide solutions at the field level;
3. Responsible for maintaining the qualitative as well as quantitative data of the various WRD works done and to present the same in a graphical manner to various external stakeholders
4. Help design and Carry out Assessment studies to document the impacts of Integrated water resources development interventions
5. Help distill experiences and issues in Water resources development and management especially in the coastal areas
6. Undertake regular field level monitoring to ensure quality of works as per plan. Regular reporting and data management.
Job Specifications
Knowledge:
• Need to have experience of working with community on Irrigation, Soil & Water conservation development program/project with hands on experience of designing & implementing various types of irrigation projects for smallholder farmers. The candidate must also have experience and understanding of implementing such project in close partnership with community organizations and their members.
Competencies & Skills:
• Research and Analytical skills
• Project Management
• Ability to foster and manage relations with program team, community members and other government stakeholders;
• Computer skills – preparation of reports, spread sheets, power point presentation, e-communication etc.
• Good Communication skills both oral and written (English, Gujarati / Hindi)
Experience:
• 5 – 6 years
Qualification:
• Post Graduation in Agriculture and allied subject/ BE (Civil) & MTech (WRD) / PG in Integrated Rural Development
