- Work content and job descriptionThe appointed professor is required to analyze how natural and social environmental changes affect water resource systems, and promote research on the methodologies of integrated river basin management that balances flood control, water utilization, and the environment. In particular, he/she is expected to systematize river basin management policy and planning as an academic field through research aimed at realizing an environmentally symbiotic and sustainable society. The research areas cover the development of technologies for disaster prevention and mitigation that utilize ecosystems and for river restoration, while addressing the interrelationship between the natural environment and social and economic activities. In addition, the candidate will have responsibility for education in the Department of Urban Management, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and be proficient in Japanese.

- Working hours :08:30-17:15Break time :12:00-13:00Holidays : Days off: Saturdays, Sundays, Statutory holidays under the Act on National Holidays, Year-end and New Year’s holidays, and Anniversary of Foundation of the University.Overtime and other explanations : Discretionary labor system (standard working hours: 7 hours 45 minutes per day, 38 hours 45 minutes per week). If the discretionary labor system is not chosen the working hours are from 8:30 to 17:15 with a break between 12:00 to 13:00. Overtime may be ordered.
