About the Role
Are you passionate about managing Australia’s vital water resources? Join the Groundwater and Streams team as a Senior Groundwater and Streams Officer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of groundwater and unregulated surface water management for Northern Victoria.
In this role, you’ll apply your knowledge of resource management and provide advice on water planning and licensing for the take and use of groundwater and unregulated surface water. The role requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a wide range of services related to management of water.
What you’ll do
- Work with a dynamic team to influence water resource strategies across northern Victoria.
- Contribute to key projects and provide technical guidance on groundwater and unregulated surface water management.
- Prepare high quality technical documentation, reports, and assessments to support decision making.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and customers to drive meaningful outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Degree or relevant qualification in water, science, or resource management (mandatory)
- Experience working in water resource management or environmental management, knowledge of hydrology and hydrogeology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience writing reports and engaging with community members and customers
- Proven ability to manage water planning activities and engage effectively with stakeholders
