After almost 8 years with VCN, Pat says goodbye!

After almost 8 years with Virginia Conservation Network, Pat Calvert is moving on to a new position within the network. During his time with VCN, Pat has been instrumental in VCN’s growth. He has always prioritized lifting up the voices of our local and regional organizations and has excelled at ensuring a unified conservation voice at the Department of Environmental Quality, the Chesapeake Bay Commission, in the Capital, and more.

Next, Pat will begin a new position as Virginia Director of Conservation at American Rivers. We’ll miss Pat here at VCN, and we’re happy that he isn’t going too far away and continuing his work in Virginia!

COULD YOU BE OUR NEXT DIRECTOR OF CLEAN WATER & LAND CONSERVATION?

Virginia Conservation Network is looking for our next leader of clean water and land conservation policy work. The Director of Clean Water & Land Conservation will work with VCN’s Network Partners to improve coordination among allies, develop strategic advocacy campaigns, and advance policy amongst a diverse set of issues including, but not limited to, Chesapeake Bay restoration, climate resilience, water usage and water quality, land conservation, wildlife protection, plastic pollution, equitable access to the outdoors, and more.

This full-time position is based in Richmond, VA. The application deadline is Thursday, August 7th.
