Why Join Saint Martin’s?

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a university that is deeply committed to holistic education, values-driven work, and inclusive excellence. You’ll contribute to a meaningful mission while being part of a collaborative and welcoming academic community.

Saint Martin’s University is more than just a place of learning—it’s a welcoming community where students, faculty, and staff come together with purpose and heart. Founded in 1895 by the Benedictine monks of Saint Martin’s Abbey, we are grounded in the timeless Benedictine values of community, hospitality, and balance. These values, integrated with a strong liberal arts foundation, inspire us to educate students who think deeply, act with compassion, and serve with purpose.

Rooted in the Catholic tradition, we honor the integration of faith and reason, the dignity of every person, and our shared responsibility for the common good. We are committed to forming graduates who are intellectually curious, ethically grounded, and deeply committed to building a more just and equitable world.

Our inclusive and supportive campus culture is designed to help individuals thrive academically, professionally, and personally. We are particularly focused on serving students who have been historically underserved and on fostering a welcoming environment for all.

Established in 1895, Saint Martin’s University serves as the educational mission of Saint Martin’s Abbey. The Abbey is a Catholic Benedictine monastery, whose members pray, work, and live together on the University campus.

The physical beauty of Saint Martin’s 300-acre campus reflects the rich intellectual and spiritual nature of its presence in the Pacific Northwest.  As the mission is Catholic and Benedictine, one of our values is a spirit of hospitality welcoming all, regardless of an individual’s faith, religion, or spirituality.
