Senior Officer, National Cholera Plans (1-Year Role – Geneva)

  • Location: Geneva, Switzerland
  • Start date: Ideally mid-September 2025 (latest early October)
  • Application deadline: 21 July 2025

The Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC) is seeking a Senior Officer for National Cholera Plans to join its Country Support Platform (CSP) for a one-year, time-limited staff contract based in Geneva. This role provides a unique opportunity to help shape national and regional responses to cholera as the GTFCC transitions from focus-country support to a broader regional hub model and intensifies implementation of National Cholera Plans (NCPs).

The Senior Officer will provide technical leadership on NCP development and implementation across supported countries, working in close coordination with Regional Programme Managers and government counterparts at the ministerial level. The role also involves regular engagement with the GTFCC Secretariat, Working Groups, and global partners, supporting countries to navigate the technical, policy, and financing landscape for cholera control.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading review and implementation of National Cholera Plans
  • Supporting multi-sectoral coordination and resource mobilization
  • Interfacing with governments, regional hubs, and international partners
  • Providing technical inputs across surveillance, WASH, health systems, community engagement, and vaccination
  • Collaborating proactively across the CSP cross-cutting team to identify and act on opportunities to strengthen support

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate is a senior professional with experience across public health and WASH, spanning both humanitarian and development contexts. Strong technical grounding in one or more cholera control pillars is essential, as is experience with policy engagement, ministerial-level coordination, and health/WASH financing. The role requires relocation to Geneva and includes frequent travel, with flexibility for some remote work periods.
