Description

Program Director, Climate, Environment, and Health, Assistant or Associate Professor on the Educator Track

This position is the inaugural director of the MS program in Climate, Environment and Health (MS-CEH) offered jointly by Earth Commons Institute and the School of Health. This non-tenure line faculty position combines teaching in the MS-CEH program with administrative responsibilities. The contract will begin in summer 2025. The successful candidate will oversee the program’s academic day-to-day operations, including admissions and other program development and management needs. This position reports to the Deans of the Earth Commons Institute and the School of Health, and works closely with Faculty Directors from both entities and the MS-CEH program team.

Candidates should possess demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations, including either a track record of success in teaching, mentoring or supporting students from underrepresented groups, or more broadly, creating an inclusive learning environment and promoting equity in education.

Applicants should have higher education teaching experience, preferably in graduate health or environment programs. Administration experience is recommended but not required. A PhD, JD, MD or DVM is required. Experience teaching introductory health or environment courses is a plus, but all areas of expertise will be considered.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $150,000 to $160,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
