Objectives

Under the supervision of the project officer, WASH and SNFI PA is responsible for participate/lead BOQ production, prepare reports, follow up project implementation in the field and evaluate the technical work of contractors and participate/supports WASH/shelter departments.

He / She will be joining a motivated, supporting, and skilled WASH and Shelter team in expansion, currently supervising diverse projects in Hasake and Deir Ezzor governorate.,

Activities include:

  • Water station rehabilitation
  • Water networks rehabilitation,
  • WASH facility rehabilitation in public institute and collective centres
  • Sanitation facilities (Wastewater networks rehabilitation, drainage network rehabilitation, sewage network rehabilitation)
  • Rehabilitation of schools, buildings, public facilities,
  • Any other aspects of the projects related activities

He/she will also be responsible for ensuring best practices and lessons learned are implemented and oversight of project cycle management.

Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries

The WASH and SNFI PO is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities with which we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED program objectives, activities, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.

Context of the position and key challenges

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the WASH/SNFI Assistant’s services responsibilities include:

General responsibilities:

  • Working with the local authorities to understand the water/sanitation systems within the targeted area where implementation of the WASH aspects of projects will be conducted.
  • Has a clear understanding of WASH methodologies regarding the activities, to achieve project objectives?
  • Participates in and support technical assessments.
  • Supports the Project Officer on the activity’s implementations and field visits.
  • Supervising field workers and ensuring the progress of work.
  • Follow-up and fill out all documents.
  • Organizing attendance sheets for all workers and coordinating with the human resources department and the information management department to ensure the monthly cycles of workers and distribute contracts for all workers.
  • Conducting training for field workers and observersKey responsibilities:
  • Working with the WASH committees to understand the water/sanitation/drainage systems and follow up the daily problems related to the water distribution between BNFs.
  • follow up Garbage Collection from the Drainage Network activity and ensure Drainage Network Cleaning plan implementation
  • Follow up and fill out all documents related to the Drainage Network cleaning or maintenance activity.
  • Organizing attendance sheets for all workers and coordinating with the human resources department and the information management department to ensure the monthly cycles of workers and distribute contracts for all workers.
  • Supervising field workers and ensuring the progress of work.
  • Conduct training for new monitors and daily workers on activities implementation.
  • Submits activity reports and submits all WASH service required reports and carry out evaluation periodically for Drainage Cleaning and maintenance.
  • Conducting technical checks for used trucks for related activities.
  • Facilitate conducting general training (Coc, PSEA) for new monitors and support HR team to sign their contracts and follow up their time sheet.

Reporting:

  • Collect photos, documents and information about program implementation and ensure that donor visibility is respected.
  • Assists in the identification and location of beneficiaries when requested.
  • Submits activity reports.
  • Submits all WASH service required report.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Daily field follow-up for supervised the basic services in the camp.

• 100% of. accurate data provided about the quantity and quality of supervised basic service

• 100% of daily reports submitted in a timely manner.

• 100% follow -up the service provided accordance the plane.

• 100% respectful dealing manner with the beneficiaries

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

 Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

– Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in NGO WASH sectors.

– Minimum 1 year of field experience WASH Service activity in Camps.

Technical Skills

 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. .

Language & Mobility

 Basicin English and Fluent Arabic (written and spoken).

– Ability to travel locally/regionally as required.
