Researcher: Effects of climate change and natural hazards on the management and availability of water resources and on migration porcesses in Sub-Saharian Africa and in the Mediterranean basin

The planned research activity is in line with the main goal of the EuropeAid project MAPS to inform policy-makers on the migration on Sub-Saharan Africa, with specific reference to migration pushed by climate change. It is also in line with some objectives of the AI4Water project to contribute to the understanding of the hydrological balance in the Mediterranean and semi-arid environment. As regards the MAPS project the activity will concentrate on the Thematic Area 3 (Planet: Climate change, Disasters, Natural hazard stressors, Resilience) contributing to spread the knowledge and raise awareness on the mechanism of migration processes. The covered topics will be then those concerning the climate change and the natural hazards and their effects on the availability and the management of water resources in an arid and semiarid environment.
