Job Advert SummaryTo manage and ensure that wastewater treatment works infrastructure components, processes, sewage pump stations and bulk sewer mains are investigated and critically evaluated in respect of its design, operation, effectiveness and efficiency. Furthermore, appropriate solutions / options must be explored, developed, evaluated, designed and implemented.
Minimum RequirementsA 4 years’ Degree in Water Utilisation/Water Care or similar suitable qualificationAt least 4 years’ experience in Wastewater management, with specific reference to the design and evaluation of a wide range of wastewater process technologies.At least 2 years managerial experienceComputer literate and proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint.Proficient in using simulation and analysis models (sewage pump stations analysis and wastewater process simulation programs).In possession of a valid driver’s licence
Primary DutiesTo define and obtain the required information in order to assess wastewater infrastructure, components and processes.To meet specific project criteria related to the assessment, analysis and evaluation of wastewater infrastructure and wastewater processes.To develop or implement appropriate wastewater infrastructure and wastewater treatment process solutions, process modifications and process optimisation and manage the implementation thereofTo motivate and influence capital expenditure in a regional / national context based on factual informationTo provide a consulting service to clients and work closely with specialist consultants and contractors.To manage and maintain the Bulk Sanitation Knowledge Database.A good knowledge of regulations and acts impacting on wastewater operations.To conduct research and development.To submit full details of work done for billing purposes.
