Education/Professional Background:
Intermediate (+2 pass) with two years of relevant working experience in WASH programs in rural and remote areas as Social Mobilizer.
Job Description:
- Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with local communities, including women’s groups, schools, youth clubs etc..
- Organize and carry out regular community visits to share information, gather feedback, and promote inclusive participation in project planning and implementation.
- Facilitate community meetings, focus group discussions, orientation sessions, and household-level interactions to ensure community voices are heard and respected.
- Conduct the surveys and facilitate SWASH CC formation, orientation, meetings, training and other extracurricular activities in the School WASH program to support the Three Star Approach .
- Conduct the surveys, training,orientation, team formation for the successful implementation of WASH in HCF Program.
- Assist in planning and conducting awareness campaigns on key themes such as water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), health, nutrition, and education using culturally appropriate and accessible formats.
- Conduct door-to-door visits, interactive sessions, and local events to promote positive behavior change.
- Support the adaptation and delivery of context-specific BCC materials in local languages, ensuring relevance to diverse community groups including marginalized populations.
- Track and record community engagement activities, including participation levels and community responses to project interventions.
- Document success stories, challenges, key observations, and lessons learned in a timely and accurate manner for use in program reporting and learning.
- Provide regular updates to project teams, highlighting areas for follow-up and community feedback requiring action.
- Work closely with technical teams (e.g., engineers, health workers, education facilitators) to ensure services and infrastructure align with community needs and are well-understood by end-users.
- Support the facilitation of community contributions, such as voluntary labor, local materials, or committees for operation and maintenance, to strengthen ownership and sustainability.
- Promote and support inclusive participation, especially by women, Dalits, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups in all project processes.
