Job Description

NSF is currently looking for a Technical Reviewer to join the team in Belgium. In this role, you will be part of an international team of professionals (account managers, auditors, lab technicians) who perform certification of products in contact with drinking water. You will report to the Technical Manager EMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Specify testing, sampling, evaluation, and documentation requirements for product certification as required by the applicable standard requirements, certification policies, and sound scientific principles 
  • Perform routine and complex product design and formulation reviews in support of product certification testing 
  • Evaluate changes to certified products and determine engineering or material extraction testing requirements 
  • Design test plans (protocols) that direct laboratory testing in order to determine compliance to applicable standard 
  • Review and determine compliance of test results 
  • Make and document technical decisions based on standard requirements, data analysis, and sound scientific principles 
  • Evaluate root cause, corrective action, and preventative action in order to resolve non compliances

Qualifications

  • Masters degree or Bachelor in natural or physical sciences, environmental health, food technology or engineering 
  • Min 2 years of related experience experience 
  • Experience in conducting and/or evaluating chemistry and/or toxicology studies
  • Working knowledge of European Drinking Water standards will be a strong asset
  • High level of mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Affinity with international technical standards
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and analytical thinking
  • College-level coursework in inorganic and organic chemistry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent English. Working knowledge in German preferred
