Project description
ChildFund International in Ecuador has requested the support of a Peace Corps Response Volunteer (PCRV) to serve as an Environmental Management/Adaptation Specialist. The organization has currently 4 program models according to every child’s life stages. Through its community-based implementing partners, ChildFund wishes to expand in new strategic areas and support children and their families in an ever-changing environment. ChildFund would like to strengthen their participants’ capacity around disaster readiness and risk reduction.
The PCRV will contribute to the capacity building process through recurring meetings and workshops with implementing partners, as well as community immersion. The PCRV will also expand current environmental education training to include disaster risk reduction. This project will build on a pilot initiated by a previous PCRV who supported the development of a methodology for sustainability education.
