We are hereby advertising a position for up to 15 months within the intoDBP project (https://intodbp.eu/), which Wolfgang Gernjak coordinates. intoDBP is an EU-funded project that will develop, test, scale-up, validate, and benchmark innovative tools and strategies to protect catchments and minimize human exposure to disinfection by-products (DBP) under current and future climates, without compromising disinfection efficacy, and which could be applied at the global scale. The project will develop its cross-cutting solutions on 4 complementary case studies (CS) combining rural and dense urban areas, from 3 European countries where disinfection by-products are a scientific, technological, and political challenge.
ICRA is seeking a motivated project manager with a keen interest in the scientific contents developed. The position shall assist the project coordinator in organizing meetings, reviewing technical deliverables, reporting towards the consortium and the European Commission, organizing exchanges with local stakeholders etc. Besides this, it is noteworthy that ICRA offers also the opportunity to partake in the evaluation and dissemination of the project results obtained, particularly the activities under Work package related to field monitoring of drinking water systems and pilot plants.
The duration of this work contract initially is 15 months, but may be extended, if the project would be extended. Besides this, it is foreseen that ICRA will have an increased need for independent project managers, hence the present job advertisement may be a step to a more permanent position within an evolving and leading research centre.

KEY DUTIES
The Project Manager will be expected to oversee the research programme;
to provide administrative support to the Project Co-ordinator and project partners in the organisation, project meetings, workshops and the final intoDBP conference;
to prepare and distribute the requests for relevant information and documentation to the EU, project beneficiaries and partner organizations, including complex technical and administrative information and drafting/preparing of documents;
to contribute to project electronic resources, including web site and other e-resources, document archives;
to oversee dissemination activities;
to partake in analysis of project results.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Must have – Required
Research Field or Field of knowledge:
Experience in participation in EU Projects and the management of competitive research grants.
Technical expertise related to water treatment and quality (ideally related to drinking water)
Qualifications and Education Level:
A master level degree that either relates to business administration or the field of water science.
Skills:
Strong project coordination and organizational skills, especially in research or innovation contexts.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge on water technology and water quality.
Critical thinking and analysis skills.
Independent work style.
Flexibility to travel occasionally within Europe and Spain.
Required Languages:
English, Spanish-Catalan, at a level that can be judged as equivalent to B2.
Required Experience:
Demonstrated experience in either executing or managing competitive research projects.
Desirable
Knowledge in managing European funded research projects.
Experience in organizing workshops or conferences.
Knowledge on water technology and water quality, specifically related to drinking water treatment.
Knowledge on water quality: formation of disinfection byproducts, DOM analysis, High resolution mass spectrometry, data treatment.
Academic qualifications beyond the minimum qualifications of a master degree will be evaluated favourably, e.g. if a candidate has coursed multiple formation on different topics or gained indepth knowledge relevant to the project through a PhD.

Selection process:
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
