TITLE OF THE POSITION OFFERED: Licensed researcher.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION: Master’s degree in Biology, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Bioinformatics or equivalent qualifications.

WEEKLY DEDICATION: Full-time (37,5 hours/week).

GROSS ANNUAL REMUNERATION: The worker will receive a gross annual salary of €33,550.16 euros

PROJECT TITLE: BIOservicES: LINKING SOIL BIODIVERSITY AND ECOSYSTEM FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES IN DIFFERENT LAND USES. FROM THE IDENTIFICATION OF DRIVERS, PRESSURES AND CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENCE TO THEIR ECONOMIC VALUATION.

DURATION: The validity of this contract shall be linked to the budgetary availability of the research line.

INTENDED DATE OF DEPUTY EMPLOYMENT: 1 October 2025.

TASKS TO BE CARRIED OUT:  

The person hired will be assigned tasks corresponding to WP3 of the BIOSERVICES project: : Data analysis for interconnections between soil organisms and ecosystem functions and services, drivers and upscalingWP3 will use cutting-edge elements from AI (statistical learning and predictive models) to unravel the relationship between soil biota and EFS, as well as to predict the potential effect of climate change and/or land use changes on soil biodiversity and the delivery of EFS (SO3). WP3 objectives are to: O3.1. Identify biodiversity drivers and trade-offs, and the relationship between soil biodiversity and EFS for different land uses and biogeographic regions (Task 3.1). O3.2. Upscale WP2 data from field to landscape level and predict biodiversity distribution for different soils, climate and land use change scenarios (Task 3.2). O3.3. Identify indicators, which elucidate the links between ES and biodiversity for different soils, regions and land uses (Task 3.3).

Master’s degree in Biology, Agricultural Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Bioinformatics or equivalent qualifications.

Specific Requirements

Education (40%): Academic record and suitability of qualifications for the position will be assessed, with emphasis on knowledge of biology and ecology, as well as basic knowledge of (bio)statistics. Knowledge of programming languages and graph-based models will be valued.

Professional experience (20%): Previous participation in research projects in a similar field will be valued positively.

Languages (10%): Professional command of Spanish or English is required. Knowledge of both languages will be considered an asset.

Personal interview (30%): Willingness and motivation to pursue a research career will be considered an asset. Knowledge of research culture and the ability to work in a team will be considered an asset.
