Since we are preparing for future projects in the water supply sector in the coming months, we are seeking a Water Sector Specialist.
Role: This person will be the lead technical advisor for operations and infrastructure of water sector organizations.
Summary: The Water Specialist will evaluate the operational, technical, and infrastructure performance of public and private water treatment and distribution plants in Cambodia. They’ll pinpoint inefficiencies, assess asset conditions, and create practical, context-appropriate recommendations to boost service quality and operational effectiveness, especially to help achieve UN indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate water infrastructure and operational efficacy on-site.
- Assess service consistency, water losses, asset health, treatment methods, and quality control.
- Identify investment requirements for expansion, repair, and replacement, leveraging technical benchmarks.
- Propose improvements for operational efficiency and infrastructure performance, supporting water sector improvement.
- Provide technical input for cost estimates, planning, and investment strategies.
- Assist in designing consolidation scenarios by analyzing viability and integration risks.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in civil/environmental engineering or water management.
- 10+ years in operations or infrastructure planning of water sector organizations.
- Experience with organization restructuring, performance enhancement, or benchmarking in developing countries, aligning with UN indicators.
- Possessing good knowledge of water sector in Cambodia or region: Southeast Asia
