You will help end world hunger by…
Ensure the implementation of the strategy, components, and actions of the Water and Sanitation area in accordance with the activities planned in the project in which he/she is involved, ensuring technical rigor, relevance, efficiency, and effectiveness, as well as community coordination, in all productive processes, so that the results proposed in the intervention logic of the projects under his/her responsibility are met.
The main activities you will perform are the following:
Actively participates in the design and implementation of project identification analyses (needs assessment, vulnerability assessment, feasibility assessment, risk assessment, etc.):
- He is responsible for the formulation and/or reformulation of the project’s WASH activities.
- Develop the baseline and implement it in the field.
- Monitors and provides technical assistance during the implementation of WASH activities for the assigned project, ensuring technical quality.
- Participates in the preparation of technical documents required for the implementation of WASH activities (ToRs, agreements, reports, etc.).
- Systematically write reports and minutes of meetings, workshops, and community activities, and report and organize them in the NHF space designated for this purpose for traceability purposes.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of the database of the main external actors and allies, in order to keep the analysis of the relationship of local actors with the project up to date.
- It provides a technical framework for the implementation of basic water and sanitation activities that cut across the Health and Nutrition and Food Security and Livelihoods sectors.
- Ensures the mainstreaming of a gender-transformative approach in basic water and sanitation activities.
- Evaluation: Actively participates during evaluations (internal or external) of projects, collaborates in the generation of lessons learned from WASH activities
External Relations: Responsible for promoting and contributing to the management of partnerships with local authorities and potential new stakeholders (NGOs, agencies, etc.) that are relevant and interesting for the implementation of the project of which they are a part, in conjunction with the Base Management and Project Management.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships with other stakeholders (NGOs, governments, agencies, etc.)
- Coordinates the project activities in his charge, with the implementation team
- Non-planned emergencies and others
- Participates in emergency disaster response at all stages of the project cycle involving WASH interventions.
- Take on new responsibilities in response to emerging needs in the department.
Knowledge management:
- Make reports and lessons learned.
- Prepare and present monthly quantitative and qualitative reports on the activities carried out under your responsibility. Actively participate in monitoring meetings for the implementation of project actions.
- Promptly report any issues encountered during the execution of activities that may pose a risk to the project’s execution.
- Proactively support the search for solutions to difficulties or limitations encountered during the execution of activities.
- Collect and document the life stories of project participants throughout the life of the project, using an appropriate methodology for systematizing this information.
- Systematically use Action Against Hunger’s IT tools such as No Hunger Forum, GESPRA, Teams, Kobo, and SharePoint.
Support the logistical development of the activities in charge
- Ensure and comply with Action Against Hunger’s logistical standards and procedures in your position
- Maintain permanent communication of the action with its hierarchical and functional reference.
- Coordinates actions with the project implementation team.
- Methodologically organizes training and awareness spaces together with the social promoter
- Reports in a timely manner the logistical needs presented for the development of its activities (snack planning, methodological material, registration material for justification of activities, etc.)
- Permanently reports on the progress and needs of the action with its hierarchical and functional reference (Base manager – project manager).
- Actively participate in monitoring and analyzing the context for the development of activities through the ongoing collection of information using various sources (community dynamics, activity results, project dynamics in terms of obstacles and delays due to community dynamics, local media, etc.)
- Immediately inform your direct supervisor about any security situation or incident (latent or actual).
- Strictly follow the safety plan and risk reduction measures. Regularly report project progress, challenges, and lessons learned to project management.
Does this description fit you?
- Professional university studies in civil, environmental, or hydrogeological engineering, or related technical fields.
- Water, sanitation, and hygiene sector in the country. Civil works management, knowledge of technical environmental regulations for civil works.
- Design, implementation and evaluation of water and sanitation system infrastructure.
- Knowledge in formulating civil works proposals with community participation.
- Knowledge of water quality parameter measurement and water treatment methods for human consumption.
- Availability to reside in Miranda State and with mobility available for field activities.
