Description
A technician position is offered to provide services to the CARESOIL-CM project within the Soil and Water Quality in the Environment (SWQ) group.
The contract is partially funded by the CARESOIL-CM R&D program. In turn, this action has been financed through the R&D program with reference TEC-2024/ECO-69 and acronym CARESOIL-CM granted by the Community of Madrid through the Directorate General for Research and Technological Innovation through Order 5696/2024.
The tasks to be performed are summarised as follows:
1. Support to the development of analytical methods for the extraction and quantification of micropollutants and emerging contaminants of interest (micronanoplastics, plastic additives, PFAS, trace elements and pharmaceuticals) in solid matrices such as sludge, agricultural soils and amendments.
2. Implementation, control and monitoring of drug biodegradation experiments in sludge using microorganisms isolated from agricultural soils, considering variables such as concentration, time and temperature.
3. Set-up, control and monitoring of experiments to assess the mobility of micronanoplastics and additives present in sewage sludge used as organic amendments in agricultural soils.
4. Collection, treatment and processing of environmental samples from the experiments (water, soil, sludge and plants).
5. Scientific dissemination through participation in events such as Science Week or the European Researchers’ Night.
6. Others of a similar nature and qualifications that may be entrusted to him/her by the person in charge.
Requirements
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry; Environmental Engineering/Chemistry or similar, or: Degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, with a Master’s degree or similar (EQF Level 7 (MECES 3).
- Experience in the development of methods and sample treatment for the characterization of environmental matrices is valuable.
- Knowledge and experience of the aforementioned work to be carried out.

Conditions
Employment contract full-time: 37.5 hours/week
Annual gross salary: 24.480€
Aproximate incorporation date: September 2025
Recrutiment modality: contract for scientific-technical activities under article 23-bis of Law 14/2011, of 1 June, on Science, Technology and Innovation. A period of 1 year is foreseen for the performance of the work covered by the contract.
