Nature of Employment: This is a project-specific position offered as a full-time contract with benefits. Renewal is possible, depending on project extension and availability of funds.
1.ORGANISATION BACKGROUND:
The Ministry of Rural Development set up Bharat Rural Livelihoods Foundation (BRLF), Government of India (GOI) as an independent organization under the Societies Registration Act to facilitate civil society action in partnership with State and Central Government, to transform livelihoods and lives of rural households, with an emphasis on women, particularly in the Central Indian Tribal Region.
BRLF is a unique and first-of-its-kind initiative. The Foundation is a partnership between Government on the one hand and private sector philanthropies, and public and private sector undertakings (under Corporate Social Responsibility) on the other. Major functions of BRLF are fostering strategic partnerships with state govt for improving program outcomes, providing financial grants to Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to meet their human resource and institutional costs for up-scaling of proven interventions, investing in institutional strengthening of smaller CSOs, capacity building of professional human resources working at the grassroots, and to create a knowledge Hub for the sector.

2. Role Description:
BRLF partnered with Utkal Almunia International Limited (UAIL), a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited, to implement integrated watershed structures and capacity building of the tribal people in selected villages of Kashipur Block of Rayagada under their CSR activities. The project aims to address the challenges faced by the communities in the areas of sustainable agriculture practices including water scarcity, soil erosion, low agriculture productivity and lack of awareness regarding community driven watershed programs.
The integrated watershed management aims to conserve and manage soil and water resources effectively, leading to improved soil moisture conservation, enhanced crop productivity, increased agricultural production, and higher farm income. The key assignment of the project includes capacity building of the communities in watershed programs, implementing water and soil conservation measures, promoting sustainable agriculture practices, encouraging agroforestry and horticulture, and strengthening local institutions.
3.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting detailed surveys and location mapping for watershed programs.
- Prepare design, plan and estimation of various NRM/watershed structures in the proposed villages/locations.
- Provide layout of the various NRM structures and monitor the works execution and timely completion.
- Supervision of civil construction work and coordination for day-to-day work with the vendors/contractors
- Conducting village level meetings and undertaking capacity building programs to educate the tribal beneficiaries.
- Regular meetings and coordination with the team concerned for smooth implementation of the project.
- Facilitate community mobilization and village level capacity building program.
- Supervise the workofCCs and CRPs (Cluster coordinator and Community resource person)andprovidethemwith hand-holdingsupportat community level.
- Plan Farm based allied activities to ensure sustainable livelihood to the poorest of the poor.
- Budget management with weekly/monthly reporting of progress of works.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:
Qualification and Experience:
- Full time B.E/B. Tech in Civil Engineering/ Agriculture Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering with 3-5 years of relevant experience
Or
- Full time Diploma in Civil Engineering/Agriculture Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of active engagement in implementing watershed structures in rural areas.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Should be motivated to work in the villages, especially with deprived sections, and willing to acquire new knowledge and skills relevant to the project.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural/ multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to multi-task and work well in such a team.
- Willing to travel in rural areas
- Skilled in financial and planning, managing large budgets and project management.
- Understanding of factors related to the water- agriculture conservation nexus.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse setting.
- Experience dealing with power differentials and inequalities within and across communities is desirable.
- Ability to build good relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a respectful, participatory manner.
- Experience working with communities to support natural resource management and agriculture.
- A command of written and spoken English & Hindi is desirable.
- Self-driven with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
- High levels of computer literacy; competent use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
4. COMPENSATION OFFERED:
The remuneration package is budgeted for a range of INR 45,000-55,000 per month. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with the qualifications, experience and salary history.

7. Languages
Good command in speaking, reading, and writing in Odia, English and in Hindi are required.
