Job Description
Major/Essential Duties of Job:
Conduct ecohydrological field studies to determine soil infiltrability, soil water dynamics, tree transpiration.
Designing and implementing meta-analysis of the relationship of hydraulic conductivity and vegetation cover.
Data analysis and publication writing.
Using remote sensing to evaluate cover conditions on rangelands.
Other duties as required.
Required Education:
Ph.D. in agronomy, range management or other natural resource field.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in ecohydrology field measurements
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to synthesize information, write and publish.
Good communication and computer skills
Ability to lead research projects
Ability to direct students
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of drylands
Knowledge of and experience with hydrological modeling,
Knowledge of and experience using remote sensing.
Knowledge of and experience in planning and executing field studies related to dryland ecohydrology
Knowledge of and experience in meta-analysis
Demonstrated track record of publishing in scientific literature relevant to drylands
