About this role
The role assists with leading development of innovative, outcomes-focussed management solutions and implementation of planning policy to support efficient and sustainable management of Queensland’s water resources.
Key responsibilities include:
• Apply the provisions of the Water Act 2000 and Planning Act 2016 for the sustainable allocation and management of water.
• Assist with the development of water plans, supporting instruments and other water planning documents in line with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
• Undertake desktop research, interpretation, assessment and decision making in a range of water management issues.
• Assist with consultation with internal and external clients.
• Prepare briefing notes, assessment reports, documentation, and other correspondence as required.
• Contribute, as needed, to analysis and interpretation of existing National and State Government strategies, policies and legislation in relation to efficient and sustainable management of Queensland’s water resources.
• Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting team members and sharing information.
• Other duties as directed and required.
A degree qualification in a field that is relevant to the Key Duties andAccountabilities.
