We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our Property Management team. The Technical Specialist, Water and Hydronic position provides advice and support to mechanical staff for onsite services to these systems. The position assist with and tracks water system operator licensing for Yukon government staff for YG owned systems, collecting, filling and tracking of water, waste water and hydronic system data, specifically but not limited to, well, water treatment systems, and hydronic treatment data.

Essential Qualifications

Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.

  • Experience in the design, treatment, maintenance, and operation of potable water, wastewater, and hydronic systems, including chemical handling and system testing;
  • Experience of applicable codes, standards, policies, and regulatory requirements related to water quality, wastewater, and hydronic treatment systems;
  • Experience conduct sampling, analyze data, prepare reports, and make recommendations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and operational guidelines;
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and preparing clear and accurate reports, maintenance logs, and incident documentation;
  • Small Water System Operator Certificate or an equivalent certification would be as asset

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to potable water, wastewater, and hydronic systems;
  • Clear communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with technical staff, clients, and regulatory bodies;
  • Strong organization and record-keeping skills for sampling, testing, and inventory tracking;
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in operational and field settings.
     

Conditions of Employment

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

  • RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check;
  • Yukon Class 5 driver’s licence;
     

Job Requirements

This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:

  • Use personal protective equipment;
  • Travel throughout the territory.
