Due to an internal career progression, we have a rare opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Capital Delivery team!
About the role
The Project Engineer plays a vital role in the delivery of North East Water’s capital program. In this role, you will provide engineering advice to ensure investment decisions support the current and future servicing needs of our region.
Reporting to the Team Leader Capital Delivery, this role is part of our ‘East’ team with the opportunity to get out and about in the beautiful north east region surrounding Wodonga, Corryong and Dartmouth. The East team is responsible for delivering a large program of capital works including major treatment plant upgrades, supply mains, and sewer pump stations.
This role is a full-time opportunity, including a monthly RDO, a range of benefits and flexible work options.
In this role you will:
- Lead the delivery of projects within the capital program through all aspects of the Project Management Framework.
- Lead and contribute to North East Water’s capital investment decisions for infrastructure including asset planning, reliability and optimisation.
- Ensure investment decisions consider and address climate change, growth, resilience, and adaptation.
- Provide engineering related advice to the Corporation to support informed decision making on urban water and wastewater needs.
- Contribute to the development of North East Water’s technical specification and engineering standards.

Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of water and wastewater engineering systems.
- Experience with capital project management systems.
- Understanding and experience in administering design and construction contracts.
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders to gain cooperation, support and assistance in resolving challenges and achieving objectives.
- Tertiary qualification recognised by Engineers Australia in an engineering discipline relevant to the role (civil, mechanical, environmental and/or chemical).
