About the Role
Could you help engage communities in Bradford and Keighley with the River Aire and its tributaries?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and approachable person to join our team. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on connecting with people, building community relationships, and inspiring environmental action.
The Aire Rivers Trust is a small grassroots charity dedicated to looking after the River Aire and its tributaries. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who carry out practical conservation tasks and citizen science across the Aire catchment. We want more people to feel that the river is for them. This project will build connections with local groups in Bradford and Keighley, introducing the river and the challenges it faces, talking about connection with nature, but ultimately listening to what these groups need from blue space and how we can make it more accessible for them, ensuring that their voices shape and strengthen our work. The aim of the project is to deepen connections with the river through a series of talks, walks and volunteering opportunities, creating a network of champions who will care for and celebrate the River Aire.
You will codesign and lead events with the project team. You will work closely with practical staff to adapt activities and overcome barriers to enable more people to volunteer and support our work.
