About the Organization | The objective of the Centre for Water Resources Studies (CWRS) is to apply the research resources of Dalhousie University in a manner that will address real problems in water resources that exist or are anticipated in Nova Scotia, the Atlantic region and beyond. |
Job Summary | The Research Facilitator will work within a team to support CWRS Faculty, staff, and trainees in their development and execution of research projects. The Research Facilitator will support strategic calendar management, project organization and operational requirements, and project communication to drive successful research execution and communication. |
Key Responsibilities | Manage scheduling for CWRS Faculty; effectively manage meeting cadence for projects with internal and external project teams, troubleshooting impact of events and changes to overall calendar as needed.Monitor and communicate project meeting outcomes and deliverable submission deadlines. Develop project plans and other tools to support the team’s workflow, regular meeting cadence, time and task management, and other responsibilities as advised.Coordinate and plan events (meetings, dinners, receptions, speakers) that may occur in the office or in external venues, in support of CWRS’s outreach and relationship building. Support Centre logistics when required.Develop, collate, review, finalize, upload, and maintain technical and non-technical project documents (e.g., agendas, minutes, action items, presentation materials, reports) electronically for the team.Hold all weekly team agendas to support the team in prioritizing project tasks effectively and coordinating project workstreams.Proactively manage document sharing and files organization across teams, including through SharePoint and OneDrive. Maintain internal and external research management databases for Faculty (e.g., CCV, ROMEO, Tri-Agency) by inputting complete, timely and accurate information. |
Note | The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines. |
Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in a research-related field, with at least 2 years of experience working in a research environment.Ability to develop and write research proposals and reports.Willingness to collaborate with research partners, project management, and diverse research teams.Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.Interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving, and organizational skills.Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. |
