About the Team

GO4IMPact project is designed to support Local Democratic Governance and Climate Resilient Public Service Provision in Bangladesh through appropriate, robust, and effective interventions. The overall objective of the project is to contribute strengthening local democracy and improving equitable and climate resilient delivery of basic public services in water and solid waste management in Bangladesh.

This will be achieved through a systemic, adaptive and facilitative approach to strengthen the capacities of relevant actors, enhance dialogue between them and stimulate participatory and democratic decision-making processes.

About the Role

Through this role s/he is expected to perform specific tasks which will contribute to but not limited to specific activities/ projects managed by GO4IMPact Project. S/he will support tasks and activities across the team and shall work under direct supervision of a senior team member. Also, responsible to replicate activities with high degree of consistency, communicate across the team, occasionally support activities under programme/ project cycle (capacity review, gap identification, assessment, analysis, design, planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation).

You’ll also: 

  • Act key role in initiating, facilitating, leading, and supporting implementation of different activities of projects and programme as per organisational requirement to ensure Quality Programme Standard.
  • Initiate the technical design of SWM and IWRM infrastructure and interventions, including layout, drawings, and cost estimations.
  • Review and validate technical designs, BoQs, and estimates submitted by partner organizations
  • Ensure quality assurance during the construction and implementation phases through regular monitoring and technical support.
  • Identify potential design improvements or adjustments based on field realities and suggest modifications accordingly.
  • Contribute in the preparation of project implementation plans (PIP), work schedules, and timelines from a technical perspective.
  • Provide on-the-job mentoring and technical guidance to engineers from partner organizations.
  • Support the Technical Specialist and IWRM Expert in organizing and conducting training/workshops for partner staff on SWM and IWRM technical aspects.
  • Coordinate closely with the IWRM Expert to ensure technical alignment of activities and consistency in field-level execution.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress and quality of technical activities.
  • Prepare technical progress reports, field visit notes, and documentation of lessons learned

Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need: 

Essential skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing water, sanitation, or waste management projects
  • Demonstrated experience in SWM and/or IWRM projects, especially with NGO, development partners, or government collaboration
  • Familiarity with engineering design software (AutoCAD, EPANET, SWMM, etc.) and MS Office tools.

Desirable skills

  • Strong technical and analytical skills related to WASH including water and waste engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to quality and timely delivery.
  • Understanding of development sector operations, especially in rural and remote settings.
  • Field-level experience and willingness to travel frequently to project sites.
  • Written and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.
