As the Lead, Water Levies, you will provide technical expertise, leadership, coordination and execution of activities in developing, implementing and monitoring policies, strategies, design specifications and long-range network plans related to the funding of utility infrastructure. This role will make critical connections across the corporation as well as interact and consult with industry members and special interest groups. Primary duties include:

Qualifications 

  • A degree in a related field with at least 10 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practising status by the first day of work Click here for more details
  • Experience in water utilities and project delivery is an asset.
  • Experience working with senior administration and political leaders is an asset.
  • Knowledge of provincial legislation related to municipal infrastructure funding.
  • Strong financial literacy and high-level understanding of corporate capital, finance, and planning processes is an asset.
  • Advanced relationship building skills and experience in partner management is an asset.
  • A strategic thinker that demonstrates analytical thinking, innovation, and problem-solving skills to weigh opportunities and risks to arrive at positive outcomes and recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills, political acumen, change management, building strong relationships, the ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and lead without authority.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees.
