Candidate Water Engineer/ Technologist – Cape Town

Ingerop South Africa is looking for a Water Engineer to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. Minimum requirements include a BSc, BEng, or B Tech Degree in Civil Engineering, coupled with at least 3 years of experience working on municipal water and sewerage infrastructure projects. This includes large diameter pipelines, bulk sewers, water and sewage pump stations, reservoirs, and water/ sewer reticulation networks. Experience in construction contract administration and part-time site supervision will be advantageous.

Synopsis (Brief description of the Company and the Position)

With over 65 years of experience in multidisciplinary consulting engineering and project management, Ingerop South Africa is seeking a proactive Candidate Water Engineer / Technologist to join its dynamic team in Cape Town on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of verifiable experience in municipal water and sewerage infrastructure projects, including large diameter pipelines, bulk sewers, pump stations, reservoirs, and distribution/reticulation systems.

Job Description (Details of the position)

  • Assist with the design of municipal water and sewerage systems
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation, specifications, and Bills of Quantities under the supervision of the project leader
  • Participate in construction contract administration and site supervision
  • Coordinate with team members and support proposal/tender development
  • Provide high-quality service to clients and support internal project teams

Experience, Qualification and Skills

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc / BEng / BTech degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in municipal water and sewerage infrastructure projects
  • Working knowledge and experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, supporting senior professionals
  • Commitment to continuous learning and assuming new responsibilities
  • Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

Advantageous Experience and Skills

  • Experience with planning and design of infrastructure such as pump stations, reservoirs, and large-diameter pipelines
  • Experience in contract administration and part-time site supervision for construction projects
  • Working knowledge of MS Project
  • Understanding of construction contract documentation (BoQs, Specifications, Drawings)
