Position Details
The Senior Manager Rural Water Policy is a full-time (1.0 FTE) job-share position, supported by 0.4 FTE, to co-lead a dynamic, outcomes-driven, and supportive team with a great workplace culture, valuing collaboration, creativity and service excellence.
The team works across a variety of rural water management challenges and opportunities, including those related to socio-economic shifts in irrigated agricultural communities, sustainable water use practices and planning, water recovery under the Murray Darling Basin Plan, intersections with renewable energy investment, and other complex and unique policy issues.
This Co-Senior Manager role is suited to a highly motivated individual who can demonstrate effective shared leadership, sustain a high level of drive and commitment, has integrity and resilience, and builds trust through consistent actions, values, and communication. The position will form and maintain strong partnerships within DEECA and with key rural water sector stakeholders.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- University Degree in science, economics, natural resource management, policy, engineering, law or another related discipline.
- Experience working in the Victorian water sector is highly desirable.
- Experience working with regional and rural communities is highly desirable.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
