Overview of positionUnder the overall supervision of the WASH Programme Manager and WASH Officer, and under the direct supervision of the Regional Project Associate the successful candidate will support the implementation of activities committed in project proposals and those required for development and sustainability of the IOM WASH programme in Afghanistan.
Role objectives
 Core Functions / Responsibilities: 1.     Provide general and administrative assistance in the implementation of WASH Programme activities.2.     Provide general and administrative assistance in the implementation of WASH Programme activities.3.     Support in the day-to-day installation, maintenance and operation of WASH facilities /services (i.e water treatment plant, water trucking)4.     Assist in designing, and estimate material requirements, tools or equipment for the installation, operation and maintenance of WASH services5.     Keep track of consumables for the operation of the WASH facilities6.     Ensure that materials are used in accordance with BoQ and instructions from the WASH Officer keeping records and coordinating with the logistic officer for request and delivery to implementation sites.7.     Manage materials at satellite warehouses.8.     Regularly monitor the performance of the WASH systems under his/her management,9.     Assist in the implementation of basic WASH infrastructure projects10.  Bring to the attention of the supervisor of any works which are not meeting timelines or where quality standards are not being met.11.  Assist to retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on WASH Programme topics.12.  Perform other related duties as assigned.  Required Qualifications and Experience Education Â·       High school diploma or a combination of equivalent training and practical experience in Public Health, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, architecture, construction, water management or related fields from an accredited academic institution with 2 years of professional experience. Experience Â·       Experience in WASH, construction / public infrastructure works, especially in conflict or post-conflict area.·       Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.·       Experience in working with internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,  Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Skills: In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Office packageGood organizational and monitoring skillsGood assessment, analytical and planning skillsAbility to work under supervisionGood oral and reporting skillsKnowledge of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)Good organizational and monitoring skill
