Wilson Water Group is an employee-owned consulting firm that specializes in water resources planning, basin-wide modeling, and water rights engineering. Our staff is a small team of skilled and outgoing professionals with a passion for water. Our office is located in Lakewood, Colorado and we focus on Colorado-based clients and projects. WWG works for high-profile clients on their critical water problems in every Colorado river basin, including technical support on Colorado River Compact issues, protecting and developing Tribal water rights, modeling for the Colorado Water Plan, and water rights engineering for a major brewery. At WWG, we dive into the technical details while keeping an eye on the big-picture for our clients. We are looking for entry-level candidates that are excited to collaborate with colleagues, broaden their skillset, and form relationships in the water resources field.
Education: BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or water resources related discipline
Requirements:
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel and cursory experience with ArcGIS
- Professional registration or potential for registration (EIT or PE)
- Desire to join or involvement in professional organizations
- An understanding of Colorado Water Rights preferred
- Experience with VBA, Python, R, or other scripting language preferred
- Experience with water rights and planning software such as StateMod or RiverWare preferred
- In-office position with remote work flexibility
Position Responsibilities: Staff/Project Engineer will be responsible for working closely with staff on a broad array of water resources engineering and planning activities such as:
- Data Processing: collection, management, and interpretation of large-scale datasets
- Water Resources Planning: water availability studies, historical consumptive use analysis, demand and supply forecasting
- River and Reservoir Modeling: surface water allocation, streamflow assessments, and return flow analysis on a basin or multi-basin wide scale
- Water Rights Support and Modeling: augmentation programs, water rights diligence, water rights transfer and exchange analysis, and litigation support
Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on years of experience and education ending on years of experience and education
