Are you going to university? Would you like an extra ÂŁ2,000 a year towards your fees?
Jersey Water is offering grant funding to students studying degree courses that relate to water supply.
Each year, the company choses one successful applicant to receive funding towards the annual costs of their university course. As well as providing financial support, Jersey Water also offers paid work experience during the holidays.
Suitable courses
Funding is open to Jersey residents who are enrolled on a first-degree course (BSc, BEng, or BA) at a university, college or similar institution to study a subject relevant to water supply.
Relevant subjects may include:
- Engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
- Water resources, management and conservation
- Environmental sciences
- Chemistry

Application requirements
To fit Jersey Water’s application criteria, you will need to have been:
- resident in Jersey for the past five years and not left the Island for longer than 12 months in those five years, including any time spent in full-time education
- accepted, either firmly or conditionally, by a university or equivalent, for a full-time, first-degree course and received, or are expected to receive, any minimum entry requirements
Jersey Water will not consider applications if you:
- have already started an undergraduate degree course
- are looking for funding to study a post-graduate
- have secured a grant elsewhere.
How to apply for funding
Applying for Jersey Water’s university grant funding is straightforward. Simply complete the online application form.
Along with the application, you will need to submit a personal summary that includes:
- Why you chose your university course
- How the course will help you with your future career goals
- The qualities you possess that will help you succeed in the water industry.
You will also need to provide Jersey Water with confirmation that you have been accepted by a relevant college, university or similar institution.
