We currently have multiple vacancies in our Planning and Technical Services team which provides engineering, procurement, planning and environment and sustainability services.
The Principal Stormwater & Hydrology Engineer (PO4) delivers expert hydrology and stormwater management advice and services for new and existing Departmental projects, assets, and programs of work, ensuring compliance with Departmental, State and National standards.
In this role you will:
- Provide professional leadership for investigations, design, analysis, advice and governance related to hydrology and stormwater matters, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and incorporating risk mitigation strategies.
- Deliver expert technical advice during the planning stages of new infrastructure projects and the maintenance of existing assets.
- Ensure that all Department infrastructure is supported by consistent, effective, and integrated procedures and technical expertise.
- Lead the establishment of strategic relationships with industry bodies and other government agencies in support of key Departmental objectives.
The Senior Stormwater & Hydrology Engineer (PO3) provides hydrology and stormwater management advice and services, with specific professional expertise in water quality and flood management, to the Department and State Government.
In this role you will:
- Provide professional advice for investigations, design, analysis, advice and governance related to hydrology and stormwater matters, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
- Deliver advice during the planning stages of new infrastructure projects and the maintenance of existing assets.
- Ensure projects, plans and design practices meet Departmental technical standards and safety requirements.
- Undertake research, analysis and preparation of technical documents, correspondence and reports with recommendations.
- Contribute to the review and maintenance of the technical adequacy, currency, relevance and integrity of discipline-related Departmental standards and guidelines.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in support of key Departmental objectives.

Qualifications/Experience
Degree in Engineering providing eligibility for graduate membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia.
The successful applicants will be appointed at the classification level commensurate with their skills and experience. Please refer to the attached role statements for further information.
Special Conditions
A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Remuneration
PO3 – $101,285 to $107,078 pa + superannuation.
PO4 – $110,696 to $120,470 pa + superannuation.
