The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Drainage Consultant with direct project experience providing pre-planning drainage consultancy services for the residential, renewable energy and utilities sectors.
In this role you will lead projects which require Drainage Impact Assessments, Sustainable Drainage Strategies, 3D detailed design and drainage hydraulic modelling.
This role would be ideal for someone who is confident at using AutoCAD, Civil3D and InfoDrainage independently, whilst also providing mentorship and project management to junior team members.
What You’ll Do:
· Independently produce sustainable drainage strategies, designs, calculations, hydraulic modelling and associated reports.
· Mentor the junior team within sustainable drainage.
· Ensure the deliverables are in accordance with the national and local flood risk and drainage policy, legislation and best practice.
· Take an active role within Gavia’s quality assurance process, providing checking of drainage deliverables and constructive feedback to the team.
· Undertake site visits to collate data on flood risk and drainage.
· Lead on consultation with key stakeholders including EA, SEPA, LLFAs, IDBs and Sewerage Undertakers.
· Attend design team meetings, providing accurate consultancy advice.
· Work collaboratively with the flood risk, peatland hydrology, ecology, construction and aquatics specialists within Gavia to provide coordinated deliverables to our clients.
· Support with the production of bids, proposals and tenders.
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience, knowledge and passion for drainage, the environment and sustainability.
· 4 -6+ years industry experience within drainage and surface water management.
· A degree within a civil engineering or environmental subject.
· Membership of a relevant professional body, working towards achieving full chartered status.
· A solid knowledge of CIRIA C753 SuDS Manual, non-statutory technical standards, building regulations and local drainage guidance documents.
· Confidence to work independently within Civil 3D, AutoCAD and InfoDrainage.
· Demonstratable experience delivering policy compliant drainage strategies and other associated documentation, for complex development proposals within the residential, renewable energy and utilities sectors.
· Project management experience and knowledge of continuous process improvement.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Full UK driving licence.
