Local recruitment: Team Leader - Irrigation Specialist (Pakistan nationals)

Job Description

Ginger SOFRECO is currently implementing a Technical Assistance as Project Management Consultants (PMC) for the Sindh Water & Agriculture Transformation (SWAT) Project. This project, funded by the World Bank, aims to transform water resource management and agricultural systems in the Sindh Province to increase agricultural water productivity in selected Farmer Organization command areas.

The main objectives of our assignment, which covers the entire duration of the project, until the end of 2028, are to:

1. Provide project management support to the Project Implementing Units (PIUs) for procurement, contract management, financial management and M&E;
2. Provide technical assistance support to PIUs across all project activities, including in managing consultancy assignments;
3. Facilitate institutional synergy and coordination between the different stakeholders of the SWAT Project

Ginger SOFRECO is looking for a National Team Leader with international experience, for a full-time / almost full-time position, who will be based in Karachi.

The required qualifications are as follows:

1. For Pakistani national only. 
2. Advanced degree in Engineering;
3. Extensive management experience and expertise in leading project teams, developing and implementing project plans, managing budgets and resources, and communicating with clients;
4. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, preferably with water related projects;
5. Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of experts;
6. Demonstrable experience with MDB-financed projects, such as ADB or World Bank;
7. Extensive experience outside of Pakistan to demonstrate global expertise;
8. Proficiency in English.
